Johanna Binder @ SPARK Art Fair Vienna

Von 24.-27. März 2022 präsentiert die Galerie Sophia Vonier Johanna Binder mit der Installation [TOPOSPHERE] bei der zweiten Ausgabe der SPARK Art Fair Vienna.

[TOPOSPHERE] bezeichnet die Sphäre der Wörter, die deskriptive Erfassung der Natur und deren Darstellung als Übertragung von anthropozentrischen Vorstellungen. 

Dem romantischen Verständnis der Natur als Rückzugsort von der Gesellschaft und der Utopie der Vereinigung von Mensch und Natur stellt Binder das Antonym der überformten Natur gegenüber. Die Natur wird zu einem Artefakt und einer überspitzen Darstellung ihrer selbst, die ihrer Beschaffenheit beraubt als Trugbild die Schaulust der Natursuchenden befriedigt.

From March 24-27, 2022, Sophia Vonier Gallery presents Johanna Binder with the installation [TOPOSPHERE] at the second edition of SPARK Art Fair Vienna.

[TOPOSPHERE] refers to the sphere of words, the descriptive capture of nature and its representation as a transference of anthropocentric ideas. 

Binder contrasts the romantic understanding of nature as a place of retreat from society and the utopia of the union of man and nature with the antonym of overformed nature. Nature becomes an artifact and an exaggerated representation of itself, which, deprived of its nature as a mirage, satisfies the curiosity of those seeking nature.
